| 内容記述 | The objectives of this trip were to collect traditional rice varieties from north-eastern provinces of Vietnam. The provinces of Lang Son, Gao Bang, Bac Thai and Tuyen Quang were visited between 7 th and 30th November. Dispite the predominance of improved varieties and also hybrid rice (from China and Taiwan) in lowland rice fields the team successfully collected 131 varieties mainly traditional varieties but some improved varieties were collected. Most of the varieties collected were upland varieties. Among the characteristics of the varieties collected were glutinous, aromatic and purple varieties. A number of the upland rices appeared to have disease resistance and drought tolerance. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
