| 内容記述 | This exploration mission was undertaken in northwest Vietnam to record information on rice cultivation and to collect rice landraces from November 7 to December 2, 1995. The team explored Son La, Lai Chau. Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces including the districts which lastyears' mission did not reach and collected seed samples of 153 rice landraces and one wild species, Oryza granulata. Interviews with the farmers revealed that landraces and other improved varieties in irrigated terraces in mountainous areas were largely replaced by the improved variety "Bao Thai" introduced from IRRI and other IR lines since the early 1990's. The loss of genetic diversity of rice germplasm in irrigated terraces almost complete, but the diversity in upland rice is still maintained by minority people. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
