| 内容記述 | There are approximately 200 species native to Southeast and East Asia in the genus Camellia. Wild fragrant camellia species such as Camellia lutchuensis and C. miyagii are native to Ryukyu islands in Japan. They have been used for cross breeding in camellia as breeding materials to incorporate fragrance. We explored for collecting these wild fragrant camellias in Okinawa from November 25 to 27 in 1993. A total of 68 samples were collected in Okinawa. Thirty-one samples of C. lutchuensis, 15 of C. miyagii and 22 of C. japonica subsp. hozanensis were collected. 71 wild species and cultivars were also introduced in addition to this exploration in 1993. | |||||||||||||||||
