We have developed a simple method for measuring wheat-grain ash that eliminates milling and uses disposable aluminum foil cups. Compared to the conventional method, we can save 80% of working time by eliminating milling and pre-warming of the crucible and sample. Thus, we can efficiently measure a large number of samples. This method is useful for selecting low ash content lines in the wheat-breeding program.
