 note = {An exploration for collecting local sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.) varieties was undertaken in Amami Ooshima Island of Kagoshima prefecture from November 20 to 22, 2002. A total of 19 seed sweetpotato samples were collected. Among them, 17 samples were collected in the northern regions of Amami Ooshima Island. In accordance with the Plant Protection Law, the collected samples were sterilized by steam and introduced into Kyushu.},
