 note = {Exploration for local cultivars of citrus was undertaken on the Amami and Okinawa islands from November 12 to 27 in 2000. A total of 88 samples were collected. Among them, 60 samples belonged to 9 different species : C. grandis (3 samples), C. aurantium (4 samples), C. rokugatsu (5 samples), C. nobilis (7 samples), C. keraji var. kabuchii (17 samples), C. oto (4 samples), C. genshokan (1 sample), C. tangerina (1 sample), C. depressa (18 samples). Moreover, 17 samples among 28 unclassified samples could not be identified as any of the known varieties.},
