 note = {Many kinds of fruit genetic resources such as apple, apricot, plum, almond and walnut were observed in Central Asia which is one of the centers of genetic diversity in cultivated plants based on studies of N. I. Vavilov (N. I. Vavilov, 1980 : A. C. Zeven and P. M. Zhukovsky, 1975). The exploration for fruit tree and nut germplasm in Central Asia including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tadzhikistan, was organized in collaboration with Vavilov Institute of Plant Industry (VIR). We collected 154 samples belonging to 16 genera from August to September, 1992, and 30 samples were distributed by Uzbekistan Research Institute of Plant Industry. Malus sp. and Prunus armeniaca were predominately observed in Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan), Juglans regia, Prunus mahaleb and Prunus cerasifera in Alslanbob (Kyrgystan), Prunus amygudalus in Aini (Tadzhikistan) and several species of Prunus in Chirchik (Uzbekistan).},
