The expedition to collect and inventory indigenous sweet potato germplasm in Malaysia was planned by Tropical Agriculture Research Center (TARC). Ministry of Agriculture. Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), Japan 2. In Malaysia. for collecting sweet potato germplasm. Sabah and Sarawak have higher priority than the states of Peninsular Malaysia. The expedition sponsored by TARC was carried out for 24 days from December 3 to 26, 1989 in Sabah. Malaysia with the cooperative works between Malaysia and Japan. 3. The exploration in Sabah was done at all of five districts of Sabah. which were informed as the valuable area for collecting sweet potato by Sabah Agriculture Department. A total of 106 accessions were collected as shown in Table 2. The variation of skin color and flesh color of tuberous roots, tuberization. twining and flowering habit in sweet potato germplasm collected in Sabah were shown in Tables 3 and 4.
