Therefore, high acidity results in a delay of harvest, which affects plans for shipment and marketing. This study aims to develop a technique for the production of citrus fruits with low acidity. We investigated the effect of covering the canopy with a transparent polyethylene sheet during spring and fruit quality at harvest in three citruses, ‘Aoshima unshu’, ‘Shiranuhi’, and ‘Setoka’. In all three citruses investigated, the timing of sprouting and flowering moved forward but the weight and the acidity of fruits at harvest was differently affected. In ‘Aoshima unshu’ and ‘Setoka’, fruits of the canopy-covered trees were heavier than those of the non-covered trees. In ‘Shiranuhi’, there was no\nsignificant difference in the weight of fruits from the canopy-covered and non-covered tree. In ‘Shiranuhi’ and ‘Setoka’, the acidity in fruits of the canopy-covered trees was lower than those of the non-covered trees. In ‘Aoshima unshu’, there was no significant difference between the acidity in fruits from the canopy-covered and non-covered trees. せとか’)を用いて,発芽前から開花期まで透明のポリエチレンシートで樹冠を覆ったときの着花性および収穫時の果実品質に及ぼす影響を調査した.調査されたすべての品種で,樹冠被覆により発芽日および開花盛期は早まった.樹冠被覆が収穫時の果実重に及ぼす効果は品種によって異なり,‘ 青島温州’および‘ せとか’ では被覆あり区で1 果実の重量が高く,‘ 不知火’ では樹冠被覆の有無で果実重に差はなかった.果汁中の酸度は, ‘ 青島温州’において被覆の有無で差はなかったが, ‘ 不知火’および‘ せとか’において被覆あり区で被覆なし区よりも有意に低かった.このことから,樹冠被覆は‘ 不知火’および‘
