However, the post-harvest contamination of rice with aflatoxin, sterigmatocystin, or citrinin does occur occasionally during storage and transportation. In this study, we prepared a reference material containing citrinin by applying the method used for the preparation of reference materials containing sterigmatocystin. An artificially citrinin-contaminated Thai rice sample was prepared and mixed with blank Thai rice in a sealed container.
