 note = {Exploration for collecting Miscanthus sacchariflorus in eastern Hokkaido and Yamagata prefecture as breeding material for biomass production was carried out from September to November in 2013. A total of 14 accessions were collected in eastern Hokkaido. Natural populations of M. sacchariflorus were found at lakesides and riversides in Abashiri region, and at the side of arable land and roadside in Nemuro and Kushiro region. A total of 16 accessions were collected in Yamagata. Natural populations of M. sacchariflorus were found at wetlands, riversides and abandoned fields mainly in Mogami river basin.},
