We produced the rice thionin Osthi1 peptide that contains three disulfide bounds, and has a molecular weight of approximately 5 kDa, as a recombinant peptide in Escherichia coli. Recombinant Osthi1 exhibited antifungal activity against the rice blast pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae, the human pathogen Candida albicans and the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, although its antimicrobial activity against the rice pathogen bacteria was less pronounced than that against fungi. These results suggest that recombinant Osthi1 could act as a potent antifungal agent. To our knowledge, this is the first report of a system of rice thionin Osthi1 production in E. coli, and the subsequent evaluation of its antimicrobial activity.}, pages = {29--37}, title = {大腸菌を宿主としたイネチオニン蛋白質Osthilの生産と抗菌活性の評価}, volume = {25}, year = {2016}, yomi = {サゲハシ, ヨシユキ and タカク, ヒロアキ and ヤトウ, オサム} }
