Most popular grid size in Japan is 1km resolution, but this size may not be suitable for practical cultivation, as hilly and mountainous area occupy about 40% of Japanese farmland. To address this problem, meteorological grid data with 50m resolution have been developed. It is needed technical skills and expertise for meteorological data, meteorological observations, programing and digital maps to compile meteorological grid data with 50m resolution. I therefore developed some application programs to compile a grid data with 50m resolution: daily mean, maximum and minimum air temperature, daily accumulated solar radiation, daily relative humidity and daily accumulated reference evapotranspiration.
